At the Police Athletic League of Lakeland, we believe that when you change a young person’s perspective, you change their trajectory. Last week marked a profound milestone in that mission as we had the distinct honor of sending four outstanding Lakeland youth to Washington, D.C., for the National PAL Youth Summit.
It was a transformative week rooted in three core pillars: leadership, learning, and connection.
The Power of Exposure
You cannot be what you cannot see. Providing youth with opportunities outside their familiar surroundings expands their understanding of what is possible. For four days, our participants stepped beyond their routine environment and onto the national stage, engaging in experiences designed to foster civic awareness and personal confidence.

Civic Engagement & Advocacy: Interactive workshops provided a clear breakdown of local and federal government functions, equipping participants with practical frameworks for advocacy and community action.
